Sarcoma is a type of cancer of mesenchymal origin. It arises from the transformed cells of connective tissues. Sarcomas are broadly classified into bone sarcomas and soft-tissue sarcomas. Bone sarcoma is further categorized into various subtypes such as osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, hemangioendothelioma, angiosarcoma, etc. Osteosarcoma is a malignant neoplasm which shows osteoblastic differentiation and leads to the formation of malignant osteoid.
